Julian is excited to go on a warm weather trip, most of his travels for the last decade have been winter focused. He's ecstatic to head to South Africa with you, maximize the experience and service aspects. 

 

Widely recognized for the biggest airs in skiing, Julian Carr has been featured in seven Warren Miller films, developing a reputation not only for big airs, but for all around skiing.  He's received a 'Photo of the Year' award from Powder Magazine, won X-Games Gold for photography '19 contest, won the prestigious Sickbird Award on the Freeskiing World Tour, and he holds two world records in cliff height. Julian serves as an ambassador for Protect Our Winters ( POW ) as well as The Climate Reality Project, and he's the founder of Discrete Clothing. Most recently, Julian founded a mountain running series, the Cirque Series, which is going into its fourth season.

Q: HOW DOES MY TRIP MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

A: We coordinate in-person service by partnering with local organizations that make a difference. By promoting the service on social media, the trip has the potential to inspire countless others into service as well. Finally, tourism is a known benefit to the economies of the countries we visit, and the online content from the trip will encourage even more tourism.  

Q: WHAT IF I DON'T SEE MY FAVORITE INFLUENCER ON THE LIST?

A: They might not know about us yet! Let them know you are interested, and ask them to contact us.

Q: WHO SHOULD I CONTACT IF I HAVE A PROBLEM BUYING A TRIP?

A: For problems with purchasing a trip or completing the application, please send an email to tyler@influencetrips.com

Q: DOES THE COST OF THE TRIP INCLUDE AIRFARE?

A: No. The cost of the trip includes most meals, hotels, in-country transportation, and fun excursions.

Q: DO I HAVE TO RAISE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THE CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION TO GO ON THE TRIP?

A:No. Our trips are focused primarily on tourism and the benefits received from tourism to the host country.  

Q: How old must I be to participate in a trip?

A: You must be 16 years or older to participate in a trip alone or have your legal guardian accompany you on the trip. If you are younger than 18, your legal guardian must sign all documents required to travel with Influence Trips. 

SOUTH AFRICA FAQ

Q: HOW WILL THIS TRIP MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Finally, tourism is a known benefit to the economies of the countries we visit, and the online content from the trip will encourage even more tourism.

Q: IF SOMETHING COMES UP AND I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO GO, MAY I HAVE MY DOWN PAYMENT  REFUNDED? 

A: Unfortunately, no. The down payment securing your spot on the trip is non-refundable to ensure all accommodation, transport, travel rates are secured before the expedition.

Q: DOES THE COST OF THIS TRIP INCLUDE MY FLIGHT?

A:  No. However, if you need help booking a flight, we will gladly assist in booking a flight that works with the schedule. The fee covers accommodation, transportation throughout the expedition, simple family style meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)???, T-shirts, in-country flights, and fun excursions.

Q: DO I NEED A PASSPORT TO APPLY FOR THIS TRIP?

A: No, you do not need a passport to apply. However, we recommend you apply for a passport immediately after you are accepted. You will need it in-hand before we depart, and it may be necessary to secure your flights.

Q: IS THIS A RELIGIOUS TRIP?

A: No, this trip is open to all. There will be diverse beliefs among your fellow volunteers, guides, and residents. There is an option to attend a local Christian church on the first Sunday of the expedition. All we ask is that you maintain a respectful attitude. We also ask you to refrain from drugs, alcohol, and using profane language.

Q: WILL I NEED TO GET VACCINATED IN ORDER TO GO ON THE TRIP?

A: Yes. You will need to get the Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Cholera, Yellow Fever, Rabies, and Influenza Vaccinations.

Q: WHAT KIND OF CONVERTER OR TRANSFORMER WILL I NEED IN SOUTH AFRICA?

A: We will provide a converter/transformer guide in your welcome packet once you’ve been accepted to attend the expedition.
